Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) is dedicated to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities. In addition to engaging in charitable endeavors, it takes a cautious approach when evaluating supplier qualifications, opting for top-quality and eco-friendly products. Through the implementation of responsible purchasing practices, it has received commendation from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, earning the distinguished "2023 Buying Power Environmental Sustainability Special Award" and "Procurement Award".

The organizing committee awarded the procurement prize based on the annual procurement amount of social innovation organizations. CPT received the Participation Prize, demonstrating its excellence as a supplier supporting sustainable development goals. Its efforts in responsible procurement have been recognized. In addition, the organizing committee has established a special award to commend outstanding project collaborations that possess distinct features, highlights, and a strong alignment with SDGs. This year, CPT responded to the BLUEMAGPIE TEA SOCIAL ENTERPRISE's "Taiwan BlueMagpie Tea" watershed recovery plan. Through collaborative efforts, they ensured a sustainable procurement approach, assisting tea farmers in cultivating organic tea leaves, and jointly working towards transforming Pinglin into a pesticide-free ecological village, thus achieving the goal of a sustainable ecological environment. The collaborative project was honored with the "Environmental Sustainability Special Award", acknowledging CPT's dedication and efforts towards ecological conservation and environmental sustainability.

On December 15th, the Ministry of Economic Affairs held the Buying Power Social Innovation and Startup Procurement Awards Ceremony at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, honoring government departments and corporate groups that actively participated in the procurement of social innovation products, services, and startup initiatives in 2023, and expressing gratitude to these organizations for their support in fostering social innovation and startups through procurement. The Ministry of Economic Affairs announced that more than 100 public and private organizations, including government departments, financial institutions, e-commerce platforms, and renowned tech companies, won awards for the year 2023. Notably, 20 of these entities have received the prestigious "Special Award for Social Innovation Products and Services Procurement", celebrating their commitment to fostering diverse collaborations with social innovation organizations, catalyzing innovative practices, and creating social impact.

CPT's Chairman extends appreciation for the recognition of CPT's commitment to environmental, social, and corporate governance concerns, along with its dedication to sustainable development and fulfilling corporate social responsibilities. Looking ahead, CPT will continue its responsible procurement and drive SDG 12 "Responsible Consumption and Production". CPT aims to wield influence by ongoing collaboration with social welfare and innovation groups, contributing earnestly to societal and environmental well-being.
