On 28th August 2019, Chugai Pharma Taiwan, CPT, Board of Directors nominated Mr. Henry Chen to become the new President of Chugai Pharma Taiwan effective as of 1st October 2019 because of the resignation of Mr. Yoshimasa Saito. The new President, Mr. Henry Chen, is familiar with health care industry and full of business experience. During the period he took charge of CPT General Manager, CPT achieved unexpected performance results every year. Therefore, it’s undoubted that under Henry’s vision and leadership, CPT will keep stable growth constantly with strong alignment among Chugai group. To celebrate 30th anniversary of Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) foundation, in December 2018, charity gala was grand held at Top Fresh restaurant, 86 floor of Taipei 101 building. The ceremony started with amazing sand painting show. Besides, CPT created innovative scarfs for female employees and neckties for male as an anniversary gift, and provide the additional scarfs and neckties for charity sale. By the end of the day, CPT collected NTD 235,600, and then donated the amounts on behalf of the buyers to the Nursing Home of Eden, Yilan County. Help whose who indeed. CPT has grown up to 30 years old. Always keeps the original intention in mind – taken from society, give back to society. Cares about society, environment and its employees. CPT implements not only CSR activities every year but also a charity sale during the 30th Anniversary ceremony. Both of scarf and necktie are 100% silk handmade with the design components of ‘Chugai Pharma Taiwan’, ‘Innovation all for the patients’ and ‘30th Anniversary’, which makes it elegant and generous. When it comes to the package, it was designed and authorized by a disability from Japanese non-government organization “Fuyodo 2100”. The attention and ingenuity of every detail show the value and meaning of commemoration!

Chugai Pharma Taiwan (CPT) has grown up to 30 years old since 1988 and aims to becoming Top Pharmaceutical company in Taiwan. In order to demonstrate the image of ‘Top’, CPT celebrated its 30th Anniversary ceremony on December 7 at 頂鮮 (‘Top’ Fresh) restaurant which is on 86F of 101 Building and it is located the most ‘Top’ among restaurants in Taiwan. In addition to CPT employees, Mr. Nagayama & CPT Board of Directors (Mr. Nishikawa, Mr. Takanashi, Mr. Taihu) and Corporate Auditor (Mr. Okita), Group Manager of Overseas Business Department (Mr. Terada), GM of Roche Taiwan and CPT retired employees attended the ceremony. The opening of ceremony started with CHUGAI logo chronicle & sand painting which briefly introduced CPT’s traits including company history, product specialty, ‘innovation all for the patients’, CSR, employee wellness, ‘innovation beyond imagination’, compliance first and aiming to Top pharma. Like father, like son. CPT inherits CSK’s charity trait that cares about society, environment and its employees. CPT always keeps on creating great working environment for its employees whose average service year has been 6.5 years so CPT presented long service award to 9 employees who have worked for CPT over 15 years. Given employees’ high royalty to the company, most of young colleagues have got married and had babies since working for CPT. As such, CPT played a video to show all CPT born babies, totally 34 babies. CPT has demonstrated high productivity not only in company performance but also in birth rate which is one of key factors striving for employee satisfaction. The anniversary ceremony ended with singing Song of CPT named ‘Fly! Chugai Pharma Taiwan’ in chorus. TOKYO, February 27, 2017 -- Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (TOKYO: 4519) announced that Chugai Pharma Taiwan Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Chugai, obtained approval from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA), for the anti-cancer agent, alectinib hydrochloride (brand name: Alecensa®) for the treatment of people with “anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) positive, advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who have progressed on or those intolerant to crizotinib.” “We believe that the approval of Alecensa by the TFDA would bring the great news to Taiwanese patients who are fighting against this disease,” said Dr. Yasushi Ito, Chugai’s Senior Vice President, Head of Project & Lifecycle Management Unit. “We are pleased that Alecensa created by Chugai will contribute to the treatment of ALK-positive NSCLC.” Taiwan’s approval was based on two clinical phase I/II studies, as summarised below: - The NP28761 study is a phase I/II North American, single arm, open-label, multicentre trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of Alecensa in 87 people with ALK-positive NSCLC whose disease progressed on crizotinib. (Data cut-off: January 22, 2016) - The NP28673 study is a phase I/II global, single arm, open-label, multicentre trial evaluating the safety and efficacy of Alecensa in 138 people with ALK-positive NSCLC whose disease progressed on crizotinib. (Data cut-off: February 1, 2016) - People in the phase II studies received 600 mg of Alecensa orally twice daily. In both trials, the primary endpoint was objective response rate (ORR) according to Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumours (RECIST v1.1), and evaluated by an Independent Review Committee (IRC). Secondary endpoints included duration of response (DOR) and safety. - Efficacy Parameters

In line with the merger of CPT and CTW in July 2015, new CPT has integrated the offices and moved to Sumitomo Flysun Building on February 1st, 2016. New office is located in Dunhua North Road of Songshan District, Taipei City.

In order to integrate Chugai Group’s resources for maximize the operational efficiency, Chugai Pharma Taiwan and Chugai Pharma R&D Taiwan has merged on July 31, 2015.
